Some URLs of our website perform a 301 redirect, while these URLs redirect to the image of the respective post. For example, mysite.com/page1 redirects to mysite.com/uploads/2023/06/myimage.png. The header states: X-Redirect-By: Yoast SEO. How can I solve this issue?

    Hello @mailrucp

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. I understand there’s a 301 redirect from a post to the featured image attached to the post. This happens if you don’t enable media pages in the plugin.

We recommend keeping media pages disabled. This will cause all attachment URLs to be redirected to the media itself.

If you don’t want this behaviour, Enable media pages in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > Advanced > Media pages

    Hi there,

not sure if my behaviour links to this issue. When I activate Yoast SEO Plugin, the entire page stops working with a too many redirects. error.

It might come form the know single category issue, mentioned in another threat.

I will continue the test, but since my website is live, I had to ban YOAST SEO for now.

    M.

This behavior is happening to me also; not sure if it’s an nginx config issue (WPEngine) or a conflict with also having the Redirection plugin installed.

This is happening to me too, and even worse, because fakes urls are being redirected to real URLs of posts or images. I think I’m moving from Yoast soon because Google is taking all those URLs a real, and place them inside crawled but not indexed which I’m sure it’s harming my website. OMG!
