301 redirect question

  • Hi,

    I’m considering moving from one domain to a new one. In order to do a 301 redirect and hopefully keep search engine value, what is the proper process?

    Once I implement the redirect, do I delete the old site’s wordpress installation and database? Or do you just keep that the same forever, and but the redirect makes it so no one ever see it?
