3.1 Pages has lost ability to remove comments

Is still there check screen options may is not ticked.

I don’t have the check box items to check. That’s what is missing.

I am having the same problem. I have looked both on pages and posts and can’t find where to “turn off” the comments like in previous versions.

Go to dashboard, pages, screen options, show on page and check discussions. Then scroll down and you will have the on/off options.

Still can’t find that option to turn it off.

Screen option has to be there on top right hand

Yes, the bit of information that was missing which I’ve now worked out is that you have to tick comments and then update the page before the bit shows up under the page where you can switch off comments. Thanks.

This is what I can a step in the wrong direction! Why take a feature away! I have a specific set of category where I don’t allow comments. So, I just disable them in the post when I’m building it if it’s in one of these categories. Now I can’t find how to turn comments off ONLY in there categories!

Again! WHY???? Why take a feature away!

It’s actually Discussions that you want.
Click on Screen Options
tick Discussions
and then you can untick comments.
(Not sure if I published before I could untick or not).

Ya looked into settings > discussions as well. There was nothing there related to this.
