3.1 – What happened to embedded video button?

We do give out constant warnings on the forum regarding this.

Well, then I guess I have one thing to be grateful for as a result of upgrading to v3.1. I would never have found out about the dreaded switcheroo Visual/HTML bug otherwise.

In the meantime, what this effectively means is that you can’t ever WISIWIG edit a page that you have had to manually embed HTML launch code in. So the new ‘feature’ of 3.1 is to make it impossible to embed local media from the WordPress gallery and edit your page too.

Kind of a catch 22, isn’t it? Anyway, I’m glad I’m back at 3.0.5.

You can I have done so on my website you can upload your videos in a folder in root folder using ftp.

Then to embed video click icon and add your url or you can put
/folder/file.flv or swf what ever one you uploaded and publish
embed code will added by wordpress.

To position the video use <div> tag with style

I don’t mind that bar or any of the other upgrades and i don’t wanna have to go back to 3.0.5. I just want a way to downgrade the visual back to how it was before. The whole point of using wordpress was to save time by not having to do everything manually.

we just need a simple plugin to add this embed button back, we are not asking for too much.

Just add back the button if not, please make a plugin that works in the same way.

That’s strange. I have been switching back and forth between the Visual and Text editors for over 5 years and never experienced a problem I use Google adsense codes and/or video embeds constantly — often simultaneously. I must be one of the lucky ones. ??

I don’t have issues with embedding videos, but I want for sake that yellow box back. If I downgrade to 3.0.5 will I lose the new adminbar?

I found another problem. If we use the embed option to add youtube vídeos, we can not see them if we use an iPhone . Very very bad

My concern is that I was using the embed button to embed videos into excerpts.

Now that it’s gone, any ideas on how to embed videos within an excerpt without an html editor?

I have about 70 non technical bloggers who continually use the button. None of the above alternatives are very good.I think it sucks that the button was taken out. I want it back!

this is just stupid, why remove a funcion that many people uses, including me. worthless. i use it to embed my own mp3s witch i have uploaded to the libary. And then make em to playable quicktimes.
