Database problem

Well there’s something wrong…
1. Database server is down
2. You’ve got one or more wrong values for DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_NAME, DB_PASSWORD in wp-config.php.

Who is your host?

And a link to your domain, if possible.

1. I checked the status at the host’s site and it says that it is online. I can access the server via the host’s site.

2. I don’t consider it likely. I’ve verified that the username and password are correct by using them to log in myself. I tried multiple names for the hostname and dbname. When I log into the MySQL server manually it lists it as “localhost”.

From some old notes unoeruro.com, at one time, had DB_HOST values such as mysql3.unoeuro.com

I found a similar name to that and tried it with no luck. I will try again now to be sure…

I found “mysql5.unoeuro.com” in my information email and tried it with no luck. The wp-site updates though i.e. it now writes “can’t contact the database server at mysql5.unoeuro.com.”.

Sometimes in phpMyAdmin at the top of the screen you can see the name of the server.

As far as I can see it is called localhost and the username is the one I have in my config file.

That’s right. That is the username that I have entered.

As I wrote earlier. I have already contacted support with a description of the problem. I will ask specifically for DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, DB_NAME, DB_HOST when support responds.

My host provider responded that I need to use the “mysql5.unoeuro.com” mentioned earlier. But it doesn’t work.

You might point your host to https://emilkirkegaard.dk/wp-admin/install.php so they can see the problem.

I was going to but then I forgot to do it. I will do it next time they respond to my query.
