WP links are not working

  • Hi, I am new to wordpress, though in general rather computer literate.

    I’ve set up a new WP blog and made some postings by email which show up correctly on the blog.

    BUT none of the links on the WP blog homepage are working properly:
    If it is the Uncategorized , May 2005, or article headline link, all end up in 404 – file not found error.

    Somebody has any idea what this could be? Where to look? What to check?

  • Have you set up custom permalinks? If so, do they work when you use the default WordPress permalink (query) structure?

    Thanks a lot, Kafkaesqui. I use permalinks and I found that I had to create an empty .htaccess file with permission 666. Now it works fine.
