3.4 Update – Dashboard functions not working

    I updated automatically to wordpress 3.4 this morning and shortly afterwards i went to add a new post to my site – this is where the problems have started. When adding a new posts various options are un-responsive:

    – the Insert/Upload image function is unresponsive (no errors are shown/displayed on screen)
    – When typing the post title, the url is not displayed underneath
    – The Publish options are unresponsive – again no errors are shown they just dont work

    There may be other issues ive not discovered yet – but these are the main ones – obviously the need to create/add new posts is pretty important for a website.

    Ive always updated wordpress automatically via the dashboard and never experienced any issues previously

  • try to update WordPress manually by:

    1. Make a backup of your current website
    2. Download the latest WordPress from here: https://www.ads-software.com/download/
    3. Delete the wp-admin, wp-includes and all the files in the root directory apart from wp-config.php
    4. Upload all the files in the root (from the archive) and the wp-admin and wp-includes directory.
