    Hi –

I need to update a WP installation that is currently 3.4.1, I realize that it does need to be updated, so I can’t get around that… but I’m wondering if you have any thoughts on how big of a update jump and if I should expect any problems along the way??

The current theme is Twenty Eleven 1.4.. so I need to update this to 1.7. as well. Should I update WP first and then the theme?

Same for a couple plugins – NextGEN gallery, Password Protected, Login Logo. Do I update WP first?

thanks again for any help, ideas or tips, I’m just hoping to make this as smooth an update as possible.

    j

here’s the update on the update –

    backed up everything

Clicked on the auto update and the update message wouldn’t go away:
“Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.”

searched an found a message to remove a hidden file “.maintenance”

After removing the file and refreshing, I received a message to update the wordpress database.

I then proceeded to updating the plugins and the theme (after creating a child-theme).

In the end it’s all working and updated.
