    Just upgraded to 3.4.1. Everything working fine EXCEPT for my thumbnails. They just sit on my pages like dodos As I’ve a backup copy of WP3.4 I’m thinking of copying the thumbnails.php into my active site folder, but… if anyone has other ideas, please let me know. Yesterday would be wonderful!! Cheers.

    Well, that’s one of the best descriptions of a problem that I’ve read today! ??

    What should your thumbnails be doing?

    Acting like thumbnails with a pop-up. I’ve deactivated relevant plugins as well, but (to be descriptive again!) they’re still as dormant as doormice! If worse comes to worst, I’ll be dramatic and reload the previous 3.4, but while that will probably fix the problem, it’s not really what upgrades are about.

    Can you post a link to a page demonstrating the problem?

    I’m running on my localhost for this site at the moment – Fiji server downtime can be a problem when trying to work off a host…

    How is the popup modal window being generated? Via your theme or via a plugin?

    Via the theme… previously!!

    OK – sounds like something went pear-shaped in the theme. Since you’re running locally atm, turn debug on and enable error logging. That might help to give you a clue was to where it’s falling over.

    If it’s a javascript issue, you might be able to use Firefox with Firebug to track down the problem.

    Just run the mozzie-kill (debug for the uninitiated). The only issue that comes up in the log for wp is regarding the page-list plugin, though that’s an old story. I’ll shut down all plugins and try a thumbnail from a blank page… javascript is as clean as the morning sun… Give me 15 and I’ll get back to you.

    I’m due to log off soon (it’s gone midnight here in the UK) but I’m sure there’ll be others around to help troubleshoot this. Failing that, I’ll try to check back again in about 10 hours.

    Gotcha. I’ll work on it and post when I have an update. I’m setting up a new test site now with a clean 3.4 to see what happens.

    Okey Dokey…. Now get this and go figure!!

    1. Opened up a new file running 3.4.0. No cigar, no thumbnails;
    2. Restarted my laptop, opened my normal config of programmes, started WP3.4.1. No cigar, no thumbnails;
    3. Restarted my laptop, opened ONLY firefox and WP3.4.1. Box full of pure Habanos…

    As an addendum, I opened my programmes selectively and checked after each to see if I could enjoy a cigar… the problem was CorelDraw – there must be an addressing issue somewhere in memory.

    My thanks for the assist. Have a cigar!

    Well that was a weird one! Glad to hear that you managed to track it down, though.

    To say the least. Head-scratcher of epic proportions, but then I suppose we must be thankful for the fact that Servers don’t have Coreldraw running on their systems! Again, thanks for the assist. Cheers.
