Can’t do anything in WordPress, add post/page/categories etc

Using WP 2.8.6

Does the admin work when you temporarily change the theme to the deafult one? (rename the current theme’s folder via ftp if you can’t change in the admin).

If its not the theme try disabling the plugins – change the plugin folder’s name, go to wp-admin & view plugins. This should disable all plugins. Then change the folder name back and enable them one by one to isolate whether a plugin is causing the issue.

From doing a view-source of your site, It looks like you’re using a premium theme that was downloaded from somewhere possibly dodgy & had some stuff added to the code. Without wanting to get into a discussion about licenses, personally I’d be worried about what else has been added apart from links, specifically the possibility of a backdoor into the site.

No probs, glad you’ve got to the bottom of the issue. Was it not enough memory allocated in the php.ini? That would have been the next thing to look at.

I’d still recommend you check your theme for anything dodgy though – I expect there’s some base64 encoded stuff in the footer.php – an attempt to prevent you from removing links. Even if the links don’t show on on your front end they’re still in the html, so you’re still linking to them as far as search engines are concerned and whoever repackaged the theme could have added some code to allow themselves access to your admin while they were adding their links.
