• i just created a wordpress site using ahatuhalpa theme. all is fine, except when i deleted the default wordpress page that said “hello world,” the link to it as home page stayed intact, and so now the first thing a person sees when they call up my site is “not found Sorry but you are looking for something that isn’t here.” if they click on “home” in the page menu bar, it takes them to the real home page. Anyone know how to fix that?

  • Would you be able to post the URLs involved here? (Feel free to mask out the domain for privacy if you like.)

For example, I’m guessing you mean:

    https://www.MySite.com/ <- problem page
    https://www.MySite.com/realhome.php <- looks ok

    -WCC

It may be due to what you have set in Admin->Settings->Reading under ‘Front page displays’.

Do you have ‘A static page’ selected, with the name of the page in the drop-down box, or ‘Your latest posts’? If ‘Your latest posts’ is selected, and you don’t have any posts, you will get that message.
