    Hi,

I just overruled my existing wp 3.4.2 installation with the first RC of version 3.5. Unfortunately, I received this error message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare user_pass_ok() (previously declared in /bla/bla/wp-includes/user.php:205) in /bla/bla/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 3323

It seems that this function gets declared twice. I think that’s not how it’s meaned to be? My PHP version, is to be exactly: 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.4

  • You’ve installed RC1 incorrectly. Those errors do not correspond to any code that I can find.

The issue is that a function was moved from user.php to deprecated.php, but you still have the old user.php file. Try re-installing.

I am having the same exact problem after an upgrade to 3.5. I do see the same function in user.php (line 205) and in deprecated (line 3323).

However, I cannot seam to correct the problem with your instructions. I do not follow what you mean by re-installing the user.php file. Do I need a clean version of user.php, and if so, where can I get to that?

Thanks so much for your help. I have a very unhappy client and hope to resolve this asap.

I see that you’re problem has been solved. Could you explain to me how you resolved this? I have the same problem with my website.

This happens because you will probably have updated your wordpress manually, while selecting that only modified files should be changed. This causes the function to declare twice. The solution is to copy the whole wp 3.5 file, and not just the new files.
