• I successfully moved my wp from a folder on my root to the root directory. Everything displays beautifully. But now when I try to edit a post, the edit box is empty. I assume this is a setting that needs changed, but cannot figure it out.

    See moved install at: https://peterswife.org

    Thanks for your help!

    I did use those instructions.

It seems that the administration panel takes the name of the post, date, tags, etc., but does not show the text of the post in the edit box. The number of the post is the same in the permalink, in the url of the web site, and the db.

I do notice something I don’t understand in the db. Each post is listed twice. Each entry has a different number. The only difference is in the post-status column. The one that is appearing on the site and in the admin section is the number with “publish” marked in the post-status column. There is another entry below that one that has “inherit” marked in the post-status column. Does that help any in troubleshooting?

    Thanks for your help!

I have removed the wp core files from the root directory and replaced them with files that are still working fine on the separate folder.

The edit function still is not working in the administration panel. The “visual” or “html” tabs are not working and the edit box is empty of text that shows on the web site.

Can I do a fresh wp install on the root and import the db that has all my information? Can I copy the working template so the changes will not be lost?

    Can someone help?
    Thanks
    Diane
