• Hi all,

I’m using WP Engine and tested 3.7.1 on my Staging (test) website. When installing from 3.7 to 3.7.1 I encounter an error:

    “Downloading update from https://www.ads-software.com/wordpress-3.7.1-no-content.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Verifying the unpacked files…

Preparing to install the latest version…

    Enabling Maintenance mode…

    Copying the required files…

Warning: copy(/nas/wp/www/staging/vincentnguyen/wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.js.gz) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /nas/wp/www/staging/vincentnguyen/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

Warning: copy(/nas/wp/www/staging/vincentnguyen/wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.js.gz) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /nas/wp/www/staging/vincentnguyen/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200
    Disabling Maintenance mode…

    Could not copy file.: wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.js.gz

    Installation Failed”

Now every single page of the site gives me this:

“Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/nas/wp/www/staging/vincentnguyen/wp-includes/date.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear’) in /nas/wp/www/staging/vincentnguyen/wp-settings.php on line 110”

What should I do to fix that?

  • Hi! Looks like date.php wasn’t created during the install, but wp-settings.php was updated. This is new to 3.7, so should have in theory already existed if you were on 3.7 originally. I’d suggest downloading 3.7.1 and using FTP to upload it.
