• a few days ago, after i believe i upgraded to the lastes WP version (3.7.1), my connector to Mailchimp now is broken and won’t connect.

    i click on “connect” and a popup box for “Social Proxy for MailChimp” appears, to have me re-login to connect to my mailchimp account.

    it thinks, then the popup window is replaced with all this:

    =========

    error!

  • Hey Aaron,

    Thanks for getting in touch. We definitely want to help however we can here. In order to do so, it’d be a great help if you could provide us with a bit more information about your environment so we can track the issue and investigate.

    We’re looking for information like the following:

    • Version of plugin (It sounds like you’re using 1.3. Is that correct?)
    • Version of WordPress (You already mentioned 3.7.1)
    • Web Host
    • Are you seeing this issue in just one browser or in multiple browsers?
    • Does the issue persist if you clear your cache and cookies in a browser you’re seeing this issue pop up in?

    Additionally, are you able to check with your host to see if any traffic is being blocked on the installation?

    It could also be an issue with a conflict with a plugin or theme. A way to troubleshoot this would be to try temporarily deactivating all plugins on the site, then enabling the MailChimp plugin and seeing if you can connect.

    We look forward to hearing back!

    Hi,

    Just to report that version 1.3 of the MailChimp plugin also failed on my WordPress 3.7.1 framework. When I upgraded the plugin the form disappeared then when I went into the plugin settings it was requesting me to connect with MailChimp. When I clicked the connect button a smaller pop-up came up which contained the tablet version of my site? Assume it was supposed to show MailChimp sign in area.

    Anyway didn’t have the time to bugbust so deleted the updated plugin and installed the old version (1.2.14). All working again now.

    I’ll subscribe to this thread for if you manage to fix these issues.

    David

    Hey David,

    Thanks for posting! WP v3.7.1 and MailChimp’s v1.3 plugin are working fine on my end, so you shouldn’t see any outright conflict between the two. This means there may be something local or unique to the hosting environment that may be causing the issue that you’re seeing to occur.

    If you’re looking to give the latest version of the plugin a try (we’re on v1.4.1 now), I’d recommend re-installing the plugin, then clearing the cache and cookies on your browser. Alternatively/additionally, it’s worth giving it a try on another browser as well to see if the issue replicates.

    To clarify, after the ‘Connect’ button is clicked, you should get a popup window that has a MailChimp login screen where you can enter your username and password. Let us know if in testing the above if you’re still seeing your website in the popup window.

    @mc_tak

    when I try to “connect”, I insert id and password in popup window but then I have a blank popup waiting “authorize” for a few minutes. And nothing. Only a blank popup.

    – wordpress theme: simple mag
    – mailchimp plugin 1.4.1
