3.8.1 update broke my site!

I wonder – it might be related to “include” as per:

you should also update the ‘plus’.

There was some movement of esc_attr calls to deal with ampersands in the database. Was all working happily on my test sites and at https://directories.wpusersplugin.com/plugins-used/, so hopefully will be fine for others.

Just tested an auto-update of amr-users (ie not a ftp update) with the fixed file (minus the include) just committed and seems fine.

I comment out line 58 in amr-users.php and it works.

But now I have lost all custom lists ??

there were no changes around settings etc, so only way to lose list settings would be if you did a reset or deleted the plugin – did anything like that happen

If you access your database backups (you do have right?) then you can export or extract the amr-user options from the mysql wp options table and import them into your site.
