• I would love to deploy on a WordPress page the new Facebook-enabled 3D photo effect, which uses a grayscale “depth map” to work:

But I don’t think there is a plugin available yet for this. Anyone know if this is something that might be feasible?

    Thanks!

Here are the two source images, uploaded as a set to Facebook, that made this work:

    original image

    depth map

You can put it in a WP page, as you just did, above.
You can examine this page with the browser Dev Tools and see that it is a canvas, and the script is in there somewhere…
You can search the web for the effect and you might find code for it.

Thanks, but what you’re seeing above is embedded from the Facebook post.
What I’m seeking is a way to feature such content natively with a plugin.

I know, read my answer again.

Perhaps you misunderstood my question. I was asking about a plugin, not code, since I’m not a coder.

    But thanks anyways.

By discovering what script is used, and what it is called, you can search better for it, and are more likely to find a plugin, or an author doing similar things that can write a plugin.
Meanwhile, you can just embed Facebook posts to get it…
