I’d like to create a page allowing a 3rd party to add names, addresses, emails and phone numbers to the Connections database without them logging in to the WP administrative back end. Would that be possible?

The site is for a homeowner’s association, and the development is managed by a property management company. I’d like to enable the property management staff to add new homeowners directly rather than having them go through a middle person who is an administrator (which often doesn’t happen!).

Yes, this is possible. You would need the Form addon:

The submissions would still have to be approved by an admin, though. Not sure if that will work for your requirements or not.

I hope this helps, please let me know.

Oh, that’s excellent! Would an email be generated to alert the admin of a new entry?

Having gone to the link you provided, I see that this is the case. Thanks again for your reply and suggestion!

What I would like to do is to create a WP password protected page, and drop this form on it. In other words I don’t want everyone to see the page, and I don’t want to require those who have the password to have to log in to the WP admin to fill in the form. Is this allowed?

No, no login to the WP admin will be necessary. But, to be clear, submissions will require admin approval, requiring an admin to log in and approve the submission. The submitted Entry is editable by site admins, not by the site visitor how submitted the Entry. You did not inquire about editing, but I wanted to make you aware.

I hope this helps! Please let me know.
