So I am using your plugin and it works great. But when posting from feedly, or any other 3rd party, it does not convert the first image into the featured image. If I have the post first set to “draft” and then manually go in to publish the post it works.

So my question is, is there a way to set your plugin to run even when a 3rd party is making the post?

Generally no, the plugin does not work with other applications like feedly and other RSS aggregators. It can work under some very technical circumtances. feedly does not fit here.

Please try the plugins “FeedWordPress” or “RSS Post Importer” (there set the option “Disable the featured image?” to “Yes”). The plugin QFI works well with category based presets.

Do the recommended plugins work for you? I would be glad about a feedback.

Martin, I have what may be a very similar question: I have an IFTTT recipe that goes from Instagram to a WordPress photo post. It sets the Category and Tag (on the WordPress post) to one that I’ve defined to have a particular Featured Image. This much happens correctly.

However, no featured image is set, so the default image (the one you see here, next to my name) is used. If I open the post and simply resave it, making no changes whatsoever, it uses the image I’ve selected in your plugin.

I do love your plugin, but am wondering if there’s any possible fix or workaround for this?

Would you please send me the login credentials to your IFTTT account? I just don’t want to create one, but want to see live examples. Please mail to m dot stehle at gmx dot de.

Sorry, no. I’m pretty sure that would be a violation of their TOS. It’s not difficult to create one. I understand if you don’t want to.

I do not have an Instagram account, too. So having access to an working example would be much easier.
