4.0.06 Post Notifications Worked but 4.0.07 Notifications Do Not Work

    No Reports are generated after a post is published (there were in 4.0.06) no email confirming campaign sent is sent to admin (it was in 4.0.06) and most importantly the post notifications themselves are not sending (they were in 4.0.06). The preview of the template works and I do not get any error messages, the post notifications, admin confirmation and reports simply do not send/generate. I did set up CRON for every 12 hours in CPanel after manually publishing the post three times to try and generate the notifications and tried to manually publish once again after the CRON settings were added in CPanel but still no luck. Can you please provide a link to 4.0.06 so I can roll back and I will go back to using 4.0.07 on a test site until it works.

  • Just use the advanced view for a plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-subscribers/advanced/

    Then scroll down, select in the dropdown the version you like, download and install via zip-file.

    I have rolled back to 4.0.06 and the report for the post notification has generated but the emails are still queued. I also tested another previously generated report to a test list but used the send now button to avoid waiting. The report claimed the email had been completed, but none was received by the test subscriber and no confirmation of campaign sent was issued to the admin. I am waiting to see now if the real subscribers receive the emails (still in queue) and the confirmation is sent to the admin. Finally I removed the CRON command for the site as previously when 4.0.06 worked completely I had no CRON command in CPanel.

    @southerncrosswebs Did you republish existing post or publish a new post?

    in the last few tests I took a published post, reverted it to draft saved it as a draft and republished it (four times to keep trying the plugin). The initial failure to post the notification was from a post that was recycled to publish from an auto post scheduler.

    I should also say that I noticed that in 4.0.07 that the default Maximum Emails Send In An Hour (Email Sending settings) was 100, and in 4.0.06 is was 50. I have changed it back to 50 in the last few tests to see it that was the problem, but hasn’t made any difference. I only have 60 subscribers so when it was all working there wasn’t much waiting in the queue.

    i just posted a new post, it has generated a report but the emails are still queued. The republished one from 30 or so minutes ago seems to be stuck in “sending” status. Do you want them to go thru the queue or do you want me to use the send now option? (for the new post)

    So, new post publish is working as expected. It’s facing difficulties with the older post. Let us check into the issue. Will update soon.

    I rolled back to 4.0.06 on a second site, republished a post (not a new post) the report generated in the dashboard, sent the post notification emails out (which were received as I always send one to myself) and the confirmation of campaign sent email was issued to the admin. So 4.0.06 does work in WordPress 5.1.1 and with no CRON command entered for the website on CPanel. So maybe 4.0.07 has issues with WP 5.1.1?
