• Our users brought attention to an issue where the new admin-scripts brought in v4.0 weren’t loaded correctly using Chromium browsers.

When you find that the interface of The SEO Framework isn’t displayed correctly, you may want to clear your browser cache after updating.

Alternatively, a forced refresh of the broken admin page should also do the trick, any of these solutions should work:

    • Hold CTRL (Windows), CMD (Mac), or SUPER (Linux) and click on the page refresh button.
    • Windows: “CTRL+SHIFT+R”
    • Mac: “CMD+R”

Some users also found that, when using a caching plugin, clearing your WordPress cache also helped. You may need to perform any of the steps above after clearing that.

If neither of these solutions works for you, try using another browser, and see if everything’s OK there.

This is very unlikely, but, as a last resort, some service solutions cache static files from the server in memory. Litespeed and NGINX web servers may be configured this way. Reinstalling the plugin may resolve this issue.

If none of the solutions mentioned above work for you, please open a support inquiry in the forums. Thank you!

    For Google Chrome users:
Chrome 77 was just released. Thanks to that update, you will see The SEO Framework’s meta box overlap your text in the WordPress 5.0+ Block Editor (aka Gutenberg).

This issue is not caused by The SEO Framework v4.0. This is a conflict with Chrome’s new flexbox-CSS implementation and Gutenberg, and all meta boxes are affected.

The WordPress team is currently addressing this issue:

    1. https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/48018
    2. https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/17406

    Workaround:
Use a different browser for editing posts until this issue is resolved.

I have the admin page not loading in Vivaldi browser, which is Chrome-based. I cleared all cache plugins, forced fresh page load, logged out and logged back in but nothing worked. I logged in to Microsoft Edge, which worked OK. I presume a later update will fix this?

    Hi Andy,

    Summarized: delete the query-string-removal plugin.

    The explanation:
You have a plugin active on your site, which removes query string parameters from URLs. Both WordPress and we rely on these parameters to bust the cache between plugin updates. You can manually bust the cache for the request by hitting the key combinations listed in the topic; that should immediately resolve the issue–repeat this for every broken page.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can (or rather, should) do to mitigate this. The query-string-removal plugin simply shouldn’t run on the admin pages, since it’s sensitive content.

That said, we advise against removing the query-strings unless your CDN doesn’t support these. It is unlikely you can still find a CDN that acts undesirably, and the performance recommendations on these from YSlow and whatnot are archaic, unnecessary, and obsolete.

Since this is a sticky topic, we’d like to keep it clean and concise. Please open a new topic if you have further questions. Thank you!

In the admin interface the Seo Bar(the status of the post) that is been shown is repeated twice.
