    Hi there,

I’m getting this message a lot these days (across various WP sites):

‘Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.’

Can we please have a function to disable this error check? I don’t need it if it’s going to prevent the file saving.

I see various posts about turning off plugins, checking host config etc to get it working but surely that’s a very cumbersome workaround, the editor should not be rendered useless by rogue plugin behaviour.

    Cheers,
    Sam

Also SFTP is not ideal when multiple people are working on the same site as you run into sync issues, hence it would be nice if this worked as it used to. Thanks

Please install the health check plugin

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/

It can run a test and figure out what plugin is breaking your loopback ability.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for getting back to me, I’ve installed the plugin but it seems like the loopback functionality is intact ‘ – The loopback request to your site completed successfully.’

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Sam

    Are all directories writeable?

All good now, just found the issue to be the ‘password protected’ plugin, I had an IP restriction set there because the site is in development which must block the check somehow.

    Thanks for your help
