    Hi
    I have 5 questions:
    1. How can I set that the pdf is starting on an even pagenumber? I′m extracting articles from a magazine and if one is from page 4 – 10, the pages get grouped wrong i double page view, since page 4 becomes single start page.
    2. If I use file path[dflip source=”example.com/wp-content/uploads/file.pdf” type=”thumb” ][/dflip] instead of creating each flipbook, will it load slower?
    3. I can′t get using file path to work. It just keeps loading in lightbox, no error message. I use Godaddy w my own domain, how do I know if its a CORS issue?
    4. Where to put pdf-files to keep them safe? Is it just wp-content/uploads and make file name hard to guess?
    5. What′s the differences between this plugin and 3D FlipBook https://3dflipbook.net/

    Hi,

    1. Please follow a valid Document Format. https://dearflip.com/document-layouts-for-dflip-flipbook-plugin/
    2. The speed is the same.
    3. Please check your developer console for errors.
    4. Security is not integrated into our viewer only plugin.
    5. Some info can be found at https://dearflip.com/best-jquery-flipbook-plugins-for-your-website/

OK. So no workaround to get booklet format but starting with 2 pages instead of single? Using Double Page Format is no good since I still want single pages on mobile.

    3. Please check your developer console for errors.

Where to find? Within WP admin, or or the host Godaddy admin?

    4. Security is not integrated into our viewer only plugin.

Yes I know. I was thinking that you may have some tips for best practice.

3 – This would be in your browser developer console. Right-click and choose “inspect”

    Oh sorry.
I get “I get “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () with link: https://domain/postname/%E2%80%9Dhttps:/secureservercdn.net/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/s0o.36c.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/filenamexxx.pdf
Seems like something is screwing up the link? Shouldn′t it just be https://domain/wp-content/uploads/filenamexxx.pdf ?

    Hi,

    1. If you choose Page mode as Auto(default Value) the flipbook will start with Double page mod on desktop and single page mode(booklet) on mobile. This is the default behavior if you haven’t’ changed any settings.

    3. The problem is with some CDN, some CDN plugins that you might have installed. please check how they are configured.

    4. We recommend admins to create protected pages that accessible to valid users. Then add the flipbooks to such pages as per requirement. Page-level security is much better than the flipbook level.

    1. Yes I know. But what I want to do is being able to use Daouble page mode, without first page being single. If I display only page 2-5 from a magazine I want them to be grouped 2-3 and 4-5 as original. Not 2 and 3-4 and 5.

    3. The only one I could think of is Sucuri Security but deactivating it doesn′t change.

    4. Pages are protected. Only user with access can reach and view pdfs, but I don′t want them to be able to download. I read in your support forum that it is possible to see the url of the pdf-files in the source code and just download them.

    4. Somewhere I saw a plugin to prevent people from downloading the file after finding the url in the sourcecode. Anyone know the name of it?

In theory, hosting the files on S3 or similar with restrictive IAM permissions would prevent direct access.

My approach is to have 2 versions. 1 watermarked/lower quality for preview and 1 full quality, not watermarked for download when offered.

But I’d love to simplify this.

How do mean S3 or similar would work, would it be possible to use with file path shortcode [dflip source=”… ?

I′m not going to have any pdf′s for download, only viewing via flipbook viewer.

No one knows how to protect files from downloading?

    Hi,

So far during our experience with the flipbook plugin, we have not found a foolproof method to stop downloading.
Unless the file format is redesigned, it’s quite hard to do so.

OK, I was looking at this plugin https://wp-pdf.com/secure-instructions/ where files…

…. should be uploaded to a ‘securepdfs’ sub-folder of your uploads area. These files should not be accessible directly, and the plugin provides a backdoor method for the embedded viewer to obtain the file contents.

I thought it would be possible to make same kind of folder for dflip.

Yeah, They use atob encryption, and the decryption is done on the browser and can crash a browser if the file is big. Also, doing so breaks partial loading and other useful features. So we didn’t go that way.

OK. bad way to go then. I guess best way then is to make filenamnes hard to guess. Then people can find url in source code and download for the post they bought, but not for the rest of the files.
    So instead of 1.pdf , 2.pdf …I will use F(50Jjdf7.pdf ….: )

    Though, I still can′t use file path [dflip source=”example.com/wp-content/uploads/file.pdf” type=”thumb” ][/dflip]
I disabled all plugins, cdn, and even tried on new server.
Does it require pro-version or something?

    I just get spinning wheel:
    “Cannot access file! ”https://www.alternativ.nu/tidning/wp-content/uploads/Biboet.pdf”
