4 Questions- please read

  • I have 4 questions:

    1) Whenever I try to post a comment on the main (home) page, I get a 404 error pg not found. The Discussion settings are set to allow comments on all pages. The individual post settings are set to allow comments and pings.

    2) Is is possible to set the RSS feed to another page and make that the blog feed? Is there an option for setting the blog feed on a page other than the home page?

    3) Which is the plugin that allows readers to follow a discussion/ comment thread?

    4) Whenever a reader clicks on the category links they get an “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” message. Do I need to set up the category pages, how do I do that?

    PS What is different on version 2.9.2 and should I upgrade? I’m afraid of messing up my blog.

  • 1. You have a permalink problem. None of your post links work either. Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

    2. No.

    3. You don’t need a plugin to display comments or generate a comments feed.

    4. See No.1

    Most definitely, yes! You currently have a greater change of being hacked.

    Thank you esmi, I now have the permalinks set to show the date and post name and they work. How do I set it to show only the post name?
