• We receive weekly questions from customers who want to order and have the order delivered to an address longer than 40 characters. In Woocommerce, the customer can enter his address in 2 lines, this is often the case with addresses of people who live in a larger apartment block and who must also state the building and / or residence on the 2nd line. The customer is informed that the address may not be longer than 40 characters. The comment we keep getting: “my address is no longer than 40 characters”. And they are right, because the street address is usually no longer than 40 characters, but with the additions it is.
Currently we have to ask to place address additions in the order notes, and then an adjustment has to be made manually in Shipping manager on the label to add the extra instructions from the customer.
Is there a possibility to only take into account the first line of the address and add the second line on the label as a reference?

    Dear,

It’s true that our street address is limited to 40 characters but in the Shipping Manager it-self, you can split the whole address into the different dedicate fields “company/street/housenumber/box”, so it shouldn’t be an problem. or perhaps we do understand wrongly your request.
If you would like to discuss it deeper, I invite you to raise an email to [email protected]

    Kind Regards

Yes, addresses can be changed in Shipping manager, but the problem is that the customer gets a notification that the address is too long when they want to ad specifications in the second address line. (like appartment block ‘Utopia’ or something like that)
So when they get the notification saying that the address is too long they don’t understand, because it’s in two lines of less than 40 characters each.
Their next step is to either abandon the order, or to contact us, after which we have to tell them to put just the street address in the address line, and ad the specifications in the order notes, and after that we have to edit the label in Shipping Manager… very time consuming

I already contacted bpost about this last year, but they say there is no option to change this.
