4.0 Upgrade Blank Screen

  • Hello am wondering if you can help.. I have just done a manual installation of WordPress 4.0 and followed the instructions carefully. Now when I try to go on the site I get a blank white screen…

    Can anyone help please??

    but what I did recently with the same problem was to contact my hosting company via live help and they helped me to fix the problem.

    – can you access the error-log of your webserver? There should be some infos about what happened.
    – is the backend of you install accessable (is at https://YOURDOMAINNAMEHERE/wp-admin/)
    – can you try to add define( 'WP_DEBUG', false ); to you wp_config.php and see what’s happening then?

    Argh, an error in my previous post.
    #2 is define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); (not false)…

    Not my day… sorry… What I meant in the two previous posts:

    1. can you access the error-log of your webserver? There should be some infos about what happened.
    2. is the backend of you install accessable (is at https://YOURDOMAINNAMEHERE/wp-admin/)?
    3. Add define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); to your wp_config.php. This will create a file debug.log in the root of your website. check this file for additional info.

    Hi,
    I have the same issue – just got the blank screen after hitting enter in my login screen.
    Is this issue solved?

    /wp-admin is available but after typing your login and pressing LogIn the link stays the same (https://yourdomainname/wp-login.php)and the screen is blank
