    Hi,

Wordfence is great safety plugin I use on all websites.
On one of them, it is the second time it generates the error 400 bad request on Chrome browser.

I use Wordfence for 1 year with no error, on same server and with same plugins, nothing changed.
Solutions that wordked solving 400 bad request:
    – Fist time solution on 2019.05: I deleted all cookies and it solved it.
    – Second time solution in 2019.08: I deleted only “wf_loginalerted_….” cookies, in total about 30 cookies “wf_loginalerted_….” (from developer tools) and it solved it.
    All 30 cookies were expiring in 2020.05 – 2020.07.
I think it is happening only to admin login.

I searched in all settings to change the expiring for this cookie to 2 months and did not find it (it seems that it is generating the 400 bad request after 3 months).

Thank you very much if you have any recommendation.
    Kind regards.

  • Hi @abgalaxy,

If your site is having issues with the wf_loginalerted_* cookies, you can disable the usage of them.

To do this, go into Wordfence -> All Options, and uncheck the following options:

    – Alert me when someone with administrator access signs in
    – Only alert me when that administrator signs in from a new device or location
    – Alert me when a non-admin user signs in
    – Only alert me when that user signs in from a new device or location

    For example: https://i.imgur.com/SdOSVVn.png

Save changes, and now those cookies should no longer be generated.

    Hi @wfdave

Thank you very much for the fast reply.
It is OK, I will keep them and delete every 3 months or more when it shows. Security is more important and to delete cookies takes 2 min ??

I was interested if Users would encounter the same 400 bad request but it seems only Admin encounters it so it is OK.

Thank you for creating Wordfence, it is a fantastic security plugin.
