• Hi,

    Im having trouble viewing my website.

    I keep getting 403 errors.

    I’ve added .htaccess with:

    <IfModule mod_security.c>
    SecFilterInheritance Off
    </IfModule>

    I’ve tried both wp-admin and route directories.

    I can access wp-login fine but cant view my blog. When I add .htaccess i get a 500 error when trying to get to wp-login. Also I havent added any new plugins and there was not a .htaccess file there originally.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated?

  • Don’t know if this is particularly helpful, but I had the same problem earlier today. Couldn’t access several of my sites, got the ol’ 403 error.

    Then I noticed my .htaccess file had something in it. I have been particularly careful about keeping it empty until I get a feel for what it does. Something put a bunch of stuff in it.

    To make a long story short, I called my host who’s tech support tech deleted the contents of the .htaccess, then my 403 errors disappeared.

    I figure the only thing I did that would affect that file was to monkey with the indexing of the site using an Index Manager found in my phpcPanel.

    Now I’m back to the problem I originally went to the Index Manager to resolve…
