• Hi, I just installed this plugin and configured it to map a domain to one of our WP Multisite sub sites. However, I get a 403 error when visiting that domain.

My hosting provider says the domain resolves to my WP installation, but something goes wrong there.

This is the error I found in cPanel:

[Wed Aug 16 16:24:37.430955 2017] [autoindex:error] [pid 25518] [client 134.184.163.212:35436] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /home/heldenva/public_html/heldenvandewetenschap.be/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,Index.html,index.shtml,index.php,Index.php,index.phtml,Index.phtml,index.htm,Index.htm,default.htm,Default.htm,default.html,Default.html,home.htm,Home.htm) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

Any suggestions? Could it be a problem with our htaccess file?

    Thanks!

That sounds like URL rewriting is not enabled for the domain. You would change that in your web account.

    Thanks for your reply.

I do have rewrite rules in my htaccess file. Or do you mean something else?

And What do you mean with web account? The WP panel or the panel of the hosting provider?

Yes, the mod_rewrite module has to be enabled in your web server config (ie. panel of the hosting provider) for the domain mapped host (ex addon domain) before Apache will use a .htaccess file for that host.
