I’ve uploaded wordpress to my server under my domain, but I keep getting a 403 error every time I visit the url.

Yes, I know that means I need to change the index directory settings to allow .php files, and I’ve tried that. Actually I couldn’t find that in my internet options for IE nor for FF, but I found it under ‘Indexing Options’ in my control panel. I’m guessing that’s of no help to me.

As you can see, this is very new to me, so please explain things accordingly.

Here’s what the exact error reads:

    Error 403 – Forbidden
You tried to access a document for which you don’t have privileges.

It doesnt seem as though the files have been uploaded correctly.
Do you have other files in the directory? Like the original index.htm(l) or default.htm(l)?

The error means the browser is not picking up an index file at the root folder. Did you upload in a subdirectory or sub-domain?

I figured part of it out. I had to edit the domain destination to correspond with the correct folder on my server, and the default password for my database needed to be changed.

    It works now!

Thank you very much for your help.
