  • Hi, check the plugin’s FAQ, the error and its meaning is described there and this question was answered plenty of times in this forum too.

I have the same problem. It’s gotta be an inmotion issue. The plugin and others like it has worked for me before until today. I think it’s really odd that inmotion is in the usa if I’m correct.

Most probably your server’s IP was mistakenly identified as belonging to a blocked country. For more details, see https://deconf.com/error-codes-in-google-analytics-dashboard-for-wordpress/, error code 403, reason countryBlocked.

Hey Daniel… did you find an answer to your problem? I too just switched to InMotion and have been using Alin’s plugin for 2 years, but now I get the same response. The “outoCountry” error code sort of says it all, and I contacted InMotion and they admitted they don’t have a fix. I “think” InMotion’s servers are located in Australia, but their sales and support is located actually just down the road from me in Virginia Beach Virginia.

By the way, I tried Yoast’s Google Analytics plugin and although I’m not getting an error, it’s not working either. Also, the “handshake” between the plugins and my Analytics admin app page is working, as I see the apps. So the “handshake” is working, but I think this is a hosting/server issue – “out of country.”

Yup, InMotion, plus several other top WP hosting company’s servers are indeed in Australia.

I have this problem too, and I am also an InMotion customer. However, I’ve been using InMotion and this plugin very successfully for a long time. (Thank you Alin!!!)

It has only been in the last week that this error has occurred. Nothing has changed in my site in that time. I have a hard time believing that it’s an InMotion problem, I can’t see what would have changed. The 403 error occurs for more than just a country problem. I think that’s not true in this case.

Some more info: I removed the plugin and reinstalled. When I authorize the plugin, I get the code but after I enter it, the General Settings > Select View field shows “Property Not Found”. So something appears to be broken in the process of grabbing the authorization code.

I have confirmed that my Google account is still good and I’m properly logging in to get the authorization code, but I can’t seem to get this working again.

So you know, I also deactivated ALL other plugins and I get the exact same behavior.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Andy

I’m beginning to wonder if the problem is with Google, as I cannot get the Yoast SEO to work and I just tried the Better Google Analytics plugin by Digital Point and got the same error “global/countryBlocked: This service is not available from your country.”

Yes, but when I go to the actual Google Analytics account, everything is good. All data and charts are there.

So something changed, and I don’t know what.

Can anyone recommend a good host with servers in the usa? If I knew that inmotion’s servers were in Australia, I would have never signed up with them.

That website and article that I posted may be somewhat incorrect, as I searched my hosting provider’s IP address and it stated that my hosting provider’s IP address is located in Los Angeles. natcentral, do a reverse IP search on your website’s IP to see where your hosted.

    Hi,

I wonder why you guys don’t read that page, mentioned by me above. There is the exact explanation of why this is happening and how to fix it!

Anyway, I’m going to contact your hosting provider directly and explain them the issue and how to fix it.

Same here: happy inMotion costumer for a long time and suddenly this error pops up. I’m opening a ticket now.

Btw, thanks Alin for this great plugin ??

    (@frankbiganski)

    Hi Alin,

I did click your link as suggested “for more details” but the page does not provide “fix.” I reported my host’s IP to Google, and I have brought the matter to InMotion’s attention too.

You mentioned in another thread/post/page that the hosting company needs to know about this type of problem ASAP, in case Google is perceiving their IP’s as being “out of country” when they might not be.

The same error response is occurring with 4 different Google Analytics plugins, not just yours. I tried Yoast, Digital Point, Google Analyticator by SumoMe, and yours, and they all respond with the same error code. Yoast’s actually did not responded with an error, but reacted the same way by basically not working.

My commoner’s deduction tells me the problem is either with Google Analytics, InMotion, or a combination of both. There’s users on other posts that have experienced similar problems earlier this year, and later last year too.

And although it appears some folks may have fixed the problem by pasting some code into a footer, I prefer not to go that route as this is obvious a problem that needs to be solved.

Yoast has asked that I create a staging site so they can dig deeper into the problem by looking on my website, and I spoke with tech support at InMotion last night and they are looking into the issue as well.

    (@daniel1009)

Alin – I also looked at the article you mentioned and did not see any fix for the problem – Only a link to report my IP address to google and they say it may take more than a month to do anything. They don’t even give a place to report what problem you are having with your IP so I don’t hold out much hope in that.

Frank – you may want to also want to post in the inmotion community support center. They have staff monitoring that forum so this issue may get some more exposure.

Okay, it’s not about your IP it’s more likely about your server’s IP. That’s why the documentation page mentions contacting your hosting provider (they can give you the needed details or fill that form for you).

The error is pretty clear, so experimenting with different plugins (no matter if you initially used mine or others) it’s a waste of time.

Inmotion is aware of the issue and they are working on it. It’s not the first hosting provider having this issue and certainly won’t be the last one.

PS: “having this issue” doesn’t necessarily mean “their fault”.
