• Hi,
Just updated to the new 3.6 version and as soon as I did it, I can no longer access my website or admin, in fact I can’t get access to any part of my website at all. I now get the 403 Forbidden error message (as below):

    “Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.”

    The website is: https://www.littlemillhouse.co.uk/

Can anyone help me fix this? Please

    Thanks

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I had the same thing happen. I have upgraded my site several times in the past with no problem, but yesterday when I clicked the upgrade, it seemed to get stuck and then failed with a error message, “temporarily down, check back in a few minutes,” and then nothing.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have tried all those things and it still doesn’t work, still the same problem. Have you any other ideas? I have a feeling it may be something to do with the htaccess file? But I don’t know what.

Have you spoken to your hosts about this?
