403 Error With long Posts

    Wordpress version – 5.0.3
    Asgaros Version 1.13.0

    Error
    When Ever a user tried to post a long answer the Forum spits a
    403
    Forbidden
    Access to this resource on the server is denied!

    This happens when you type in answer which consists of roughly a 50-100 word count.
    The same page does just fine & posts the answer if only a few words are used.

    tried turning off security plugins etc one by one, but managed to lock down the issue to the length of words used.

    Tried to look for a cause in Server error page but could only find an error on the 29th of jan which reads
    “[28-Jan-2019 17:48:33 UTC] PHP Warning: Error while sending QUERY packet. PID=1446219 in /home/pcguide.lk/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1924”

    P.S – Turning Mod security off sometimes let the post go through, sometimes not!

    The example-post you provided is working fine for me. I also create support-topics with thousands of words already, so this is definitely not a forum-problem.

    Does your post contain some kind of additional emoticons or special characters?

    Please also try to disable other plugins (not security-ones only) one by one.

    Hi,
    As I Mentioned, Turning OFF ModSecurity feature on my server allows the long posts work normally.
    I have turned it OFF and now it works perfectly. Is this an issue with server? they recently updated there modsecurity rules.

    I think in this case it is a configuration-problem with your ModSecurity feature. I dont exactly know what it is doing in the background so I cant give you any help on this. Maybe it prevents the maximum-length of content send via POST to your server.

    I dont have ModSecurity enabled on my official support-forum and long posts are working fine there as you can see here:

    The database-structure for forum-posts is also set to longtext, which basically means that the content can have a size of up to 4GB. So there is no limitation which should trigger this problem from Asgaros Forum itself.
