403 Forbidden error when using MAMP since updating Mac OS
-
Since upgrading my Mac operating system to Catalina last week, when I type “localhost” into the URL bar of the browser I get a 403 Forbidden error that brings up a page that says “Forbidden You don’t have permission to access / on this server.” I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling MAMP twice, same result. (I believe I naively managed to delete my database files by doing this, but that’s water under the bridge at this point.) I’ve checked the sharing and permissions on all folders and I have “read & write” permissions set. Could anyone please advise as to what I could do? I’ve contacted MAMP support but they are no help (they wrote back “Please, can you reinstall MAMP PRO under root/admin permissions,” whatever that means). I contacted Apple support, they have no idea. And I’ve spent an entire day searching Google with no solution. Do you have any idea what steps I can take to solve this, or who I can contact who would be “hands-on” and do a screen share with me or whatever? Happy to pay them. I’m at a dead end. Thanks very much if you can help.
