403 forbidden, lost access

  • after upgrading form w7 to w8 I got a problem, I’ve posted the solution separately, however I now get “403 forbidden”, how do I reset permissions so I can get in. I’m building site locally using wamp 2.2 and wp3.5

    apache log says
    [Mon Dec 17 14:23:11 2012] [error] [client ::1] client denied by server configuration: C:/wamp/www/wp-login.php
    how do I check, what do I change?

    This isn’t a wordpress problem so you might not get the help you need here.

    thanks tomontoast, you may well be right but it is a problem others using wamp with wordpress may come across, it’s the normal set of programs one uses when building a wordpress site locally. I posted a solution to windows 8 upgrade/IIS and port 80 for the same reason. will look further at e.g. Wamp support

    I use xampp https://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/ and have had no problems with it.
