I am using Woocommerce to sell downloadable products. When a customer pays via Paypal it should redirect them back to the Order page to be able to download the items. But instead it shows a 403 Forbidden page. From what I’ve read elsewhere it seems this is the security stopping access to Paypal. What do I need to do to allow access please?

  • Hello jen000,
Do you have the Wordfence “Firewall” Enabled? Check the “Firewall” page in Wordfence menu to see if it says “Enabled” (green), “Learning mode” (yellow) or “Disabled” (red). If it’s enabled, you can set it to “Learning mode” for now.

If you check the “Blocked IPs” in Wordfence menu it should say a reason why they have been blocked and it should say what URL they were trying to access when they got blocked. Could you copy that information and email it to [email protected]?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks wfsa

I have deactivated Wordfence. I dont think its the problem as there are no Blocked IPs displaying. Could something else be causing this Forbidden issue?

Yes there are many different things that can cause it. It could be something on your server or another plugin. Did disabling Wordfence stop the 403 Forbidden page from appearing? If it didn’t it’s something else. Wordfence delivers a custom block page, not a traditional server one. It should say on the page itself when someone is blocked that they are being blocked by Wordfence.
