403 forbidden when saving new post as a draft /blog/wp-admin/post.php

    Everytime I create a new blog post and try to save as a draft (or publish) I get a 403 error for the following file
    /blog/wp-admin/post.php.

    If I wait for the post to autosave, a copy will be on my in my posts section however I still get the error the first time I try to save as a draft. When I edit an existing post and save as a draft, I don’t get the error.

    I’ve tried changing the post.php CHMOD to 755 but the problem still happens.

    The original CHMOD is 644.

    I’ve searched many forums, I’m not using phrases like curl and I’ve tried short and long posts.

    Please advise.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    Looks like the problem is with the WP to Twitter plugin 1.5.5 by Joe Dolson.

    Thanks a bunch! Being new to wordpress I didn’t think to deactivate plugins. (I did try changing themes though).
