    Hello all.

Have encountered a weird problem when editing a particular post just gives me a 403 when submitting the changes. The post in question is fairly long. Not a great deal I can do other than say that I am able to edit all other posts but this particular one. Article in question: https://davehope.co.uk/?p=5

Note: You’ll likely get an XML parsing error, as I’m still moving over to wordpress. But cannot resolve it at current as I cannot ammend the article.

Because of the strangeness in this, I initially posted it as a WordPress bug here: https://trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/1880

But Matt closed it suggesting I post on the forum, so here goes.

  • The usual cause of a 403 from a post is because you host has mod_security switched on (which is a good thing) and your using a word which is also the name of a php function.
Words like ‘curl’ and ‘lynx’ have been reported.

In these cases, chopping out chunks of the post to try and narrow the problem down is about the only solution. Once you have the guilty word there may be a way of posting it, but you might have to forego it’s use.

Hrm. Interesting. The problem here then is that the article is security related, i’ll edit it manaully with phpmyadmin and see if that’s any good.

Edited in phpmyadmin without issue. However, is there a workaround for future reference ?
