• Hi,

I am trying to figure out a problem we are facing with a sudden flood of 404 crawled pages. After some digging I figured out that on december 14 we implemented your plugin and 4 days later we receive the first 404 pages by Google. Meanwhile we have over 600 pages that has an added /ns in the url on each crawled page. I did a lot of digging, but it’s somehow dynamically generated somewhere, it’s not statically existing in the databaese. Do you have by any chance an idea if it might come from this plugin? I noticed in the code a lot of str_replace(). See here a small list of what is going on:

    Hi @demian85,

This is not coming from the plugin. Those pages are not there, by the way. You can check where they were indexed from the Google Search console.

The reason why I start asking, is because Google Console shows it’s coming from the original page. So for example:

    https://hrcommunity.nl/artikelen/4-tips-voor-veranderverhalen/

    is the the source of

    https://hrcommunity.nl/artikelen/4-tips-voor-veranderverhalen/ns

So I thought a plugin might causing this, and the offloud plugin was 4 days before this started installed.

@demian85, I searched your page source and the only mention of “ns” is coming from the beautiful-and-responsive-cookie-consent-addon plugin. My plugin doesn’t even deal with page links, it only processes images, and will skip anything that is not a valid image.

    Best regards,
    Anton
