(404 Detection) Multiple dashes and slashes in URL

  • Hello, everyone.
    I was wondering is there a way to solve this issue. Namely, I have multiple 404 detections in my iThemes Security Log. The visitors try to add dashes and slashes after the website’s url.
    For example: https://www.example.com/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/
    I have blocked IPs manually after I have copied them from the log, but it is getting to become time consuming.

    I know this might not be a question for the iThemes Security plugin support team, but i believe they would know what to do ??
    What is the solution to this (if there is any)?

  • Posting a screenshot of the info displayed under such a 404 Detection Notice Show Details link (including Show Raw Details) will probably help in getting some usefull responses ??

    Thanks for your reply, I forgot to mention there is nothing suspicious in the details… The requested uri is exactly the /-/-/-… and the path is “/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin” – only thing that could resemble a problem… I’m not experienced too much in the matter, so I can only guess by logic what could be a problem ??
