• Okay, I’m a total newb, so maybe this question will seem maddingly stupid to you, but I’m stumped.

I loaded wordpress onto my godaddy hosted account at oxfordbear.com It worked fine at first, but then I get 404 not found errors on both the main url and the /wp-admin page.

I searched for an answer on these forums and found a lot of issues with 404 errors and permalinks on godaddy hosted accounts. However, I don’t think this is my issue because I didn’t do anything with permalinks and the site actually began working for about 10 minutes as mysteriously as it disappeared, but, once I made my first post, it went away again.

    Any thoughts?

Well, it mysteriously started to work again. I checked to make sure permalinks were set to default. The only thing I changed was nickname of admin and then book, 404 again.

Clearly, GoDaddy is not going to work for me if the site goes down for an hour everytime I post anything to my wordpress blog.

are you aware if you are typing https://www.yourdomain.com or just yourdomain.com???

I generally type oxfordbear.com but I get the same up or down with https://www.oxfordbear.com

Basically, it seem like everything I do anything, the site goes down for an hour.
