• I’m running into a 404 error.

After uploading the .zip archive and the installer.php file to my host, I get a 404 error when I try to go to /installer.php in my browser and says the file doesn’t exist. Permission is set to 777.

So I created a test.html file in the same directory and am able to view that just fine.

Is it a php configuration conflict? Or could I just be missing something simple?

I’ve used your plugin many times before with ease and love it!
    Thanks for you help!

  • I don’t know which hosting server you are using,
maybe it different compare with Godaddy,
but I think it has same problem as Godaddy too.
Please try my MANUAL INSTALL method, it might work:

    I’m using NameCheap Hosting.
My problem is that I can’t navigate to the installer.php file.
When I type that in the browser, it just kicks back a 404 error.

So databases and all shouldn’t come into play.
As far as I can tell, databases, users, and usernames are never being called.
404 is on the installer itself, not anything to do with the installer running and failing.

Try and add a file called test.php and see if comes up… If not then you will need to check with your host and have them add .php a supported mime type..
