Hello @lennymadiva thanks for opening a support topic with us. Sorry to hear you have ran into this issue. Could you first please try and reset Site Kit by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. Note that this disconnects all users and removes all Site Kit settings, Dashboard Sharing settings and data within WordPress. After resetting, other administrators will need to go through the setup process again.?

Once the reset has been done are you then able to setup Site Kit once more or do you still get the same 404 error?

@lennymadiva Thank you for confirming. Could I please ask you to share your?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.

While I check the Site Health could you try to attempt to add an extra character to your site title temporarily, such as an underscore?(Settings > General > Site Title). This change prompts Site Kit to collect fresh data for your current site). After doing so please attempt Site Kit set up once more.

If the same occurs after performing the check above, please share the following:

    1. What is the full URL you see when you land back on the 404 page? I ask as it may contain some references to your old site URL. If so, you can manually correct this with your current domain before continuing.
    2. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking yourSite Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

I’ve filled the form with the required information.

Meanwhile, i have tried to add an extra character on site title but i still get 404 error. Also the address on the 404 error is the old site URL.

@lennymadiva Thanks for the update. Based on the very useful information you provided I’ll request a reset of your site records on the Site Kit service. This may take a few days as it’s not something I can do myself. I don’t have any other workaround unfortunately. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have an update on this. Thank you!

Hi there @lennymadiva. We just heard back from your site review. It looks like your site originally had it’s files placed within a “WordPress” directory. We’ve reset this now. Can you please attempt set set up Site Kit once more and let me know how you get on?
