404 error?

  • I updated our website and removed from the menu the products we do not use any more. I then created a custom 404 page. Now I am getting Not found (404) error in google console for the ones removed from the menu. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thank you in advance.

  • The message is correct. If you remove pages and they are no longer accessible, the HTTP status is 404 – the pages cannot be found.

    To fix this, you would have to restore the relevant pages. If this is not his intention, then 404 is the correct value to report here, as the pages no longer exist.
