I’m lost. I’ve tried searching but can’t find a fix I understand. Might be a problem with .htaccess but I’m not sure.

    Thanks, Steve

  • Cough up some seekrits, Steve:

    WP version?
    New install?
Directory structure (WP in root[/] or sub[/blog])?
    Host name?
    Server type (Winblows or Linux)?
    Link to site?

Thanks Yosemite, I knew I didn’t provide enough after thinking about it – sorry. T’would appear the problem I was chasing resided with the host as it all magically worked this morning.

Not sure of the version but yes, recent install.
    Sub directory.
Network Solutions (top notch American tech support BTW).
    Linux

Still fussing with getting some graphics into the code for the theme using T&E but otherwise all mechanicals functioning as they should.

    Thanks, Steve

Also, my last move before throwing in the towel last night was to change the permalinks structure back to default jibberish. Don’t know if that did it but I think I’ll leave it that way for now to be safe.

Network Solutions (top notch American tech support BTW). You’ve been lucky ;’) I send them a ping/trace showing my site is down and they respond 30 hours later that I have to call tech support. bleh.

If you change/customize permalinks, try following the Using Permalinks instructions so you don’t miss anything. Then report back any problems.

I’ve had good luck getting them on the phone and they usually work through the problem while I have them on. They did take a few days to iron out and “fix” my permissions. Thanks for your input!

    Welcome!
