404 Error Not Returning after Sub-pages for Non Existent URLs.

  • So here’s the issue.

    On my site I am getting a really weird situation that I just can’t seem to figure out and I’ve looked through about 40 wordpress forum posts and can’t seem to find the solution.

    On my site, if you type in a random, non-existent sub-page then I get a 404 error. However, if I type in a random URL after my sub-page then I get no 404 error and I go to a blog roll (I think archive) page that shows up my homepage template.

    If I type in example.com/asfasdf then i get a 404 error
    If I type in example.com/city/asdfasdf then I get the “archive” page on a home page template

    I want to show up 404 errors if anything after the sub-page is typed in.
