• All,

I upgraded to 2.6 today…I believe I followed the procedure for the upgrade in the readme. I even took an extra step and disabled all of the plugin’s before I started

The site looks ok… but when I tried to access the wp-login.php I received a 404 error.

I am using a sub directory for WordPress and not the root, I have read a few posts on possible suggestions but it did not seem to help.

What I am trying to determine is how does the “new” log in work? I am redirecting to a page that must not exist… but have no idea on how to trouble shoot it

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Chris

    mrMist,

I tried to access the location and no luck

I down graded to 2.5.1 to see if this would help solve my problem… but no luck and I cannot login still.

Some additional/new information I tried to disable the htaccess file and I then started to receive 500 errors.

I renamed the plugin directory and still no login.

The address I am trying to access is located at https://www.thenolands.com/wp/wp-login.php

any ideas? I am at a lost and scratching my head on next steps for troubleshooting.

    Thanks

I too am having the same problem after installation and no one at my server seems to be able to help. I used a one click installation. I would like to know if there is anyone on this forum who is an expert at this sort of thing and would want to do a paid consultation with me to get this matter cleared up. Otherwise, the word press blog does not serve me and I really want to use it. Please let me know how to get in touch with you if you are a consultant in this matter. Thnak you.

    @ barbara davis

email me : village-idiot.org@whoo (turn those around) and I’ll just fix it for you.

I tried to email you but mail was undeliverable using that address. Sorry. I will try again. Thank you.

you need to reverse the stuff around the @ — its backwards. On purpose.

My suggestion Have a Backup of your Blog first before performing any more tricks on it. After backup is complete check whether PHP extension rewrite _url is working or not !!
