Hi! Got a call from the client today that all of the download links on her site are giving her 404 errors when they were fine when I launched the site on the 1st of the month. Some of the download links are even referring to OLD locations for the file packages, using the path that their OLD downloads plugin (MDOCS) used.

I was hoping that updating the plugin was all I needed to do, but when I try to update it, I get the error “Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature”

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @traypup
    I hope you are well.
I see that you have attached a file from the media library which does not exist that’s why it’s showing a 404 error. Make sure that the file is available.
However, In order to update, you can download it from .org and then install and replace it through the default WordPress plugin installation section.
    Thank You

Right. It doesn’t exist because that’s not the file I put in the package to be linked to. I used the correct id for my file, but the download button isn’t linking to it.

    Try this page: https://facchoice.com/senator-moran-letter-dol/
It links to the package just fine, but when I try to download from that page, I get the 404. This is not the only post on the site where I’m having this trouble. A post I set up today, though, seems to be working fine. Please take another look. Thanks!

BTW, I’m using PRO, so downloading from .org sent me on a wild goose chase. At least I finally have that updated.

    Hi @traypup
Make sure that you have disabled these options.
Also, have you tried with the default .htaccess instead?
However, for the Pro support please post your query here.
    Thanks.
