  • I don’t know what version of Yoast SEO are using but in your WP admin panel use the SEO tab on top and clock edit files. Your robot.txt should be there and if it’s blank you can edit it there.

    Thanks for responding Michele. Unfortunately, there is no ‘Edit Files’ tab underneath the SEO tab. The drop-down menu only shows ‘Keyword Research’ and ‘SEO Settings’ and neither of those have an ‘Edit Files’ option.

    I have version 1.5.2.6

    Oh. I did not upgrade to version 1.5.2.6 because I wanted to wait and see if a lot of people were having issues. In the previous version under the SEO settings tab the second to last items is edit files and that’s how I can access.

    If it’s not there you can create one and drop in into your root via ftp.

    Just a note that I’ve read that some people use a sitemap generator that generates a virtual robot file so just make sure you do not have a plugin that’s creating a virtual one.
