• I am having an issue after a database restore where static pages are not working. I can see the pages in wp-admin, and can edit, delete, and create pages but when I try to access them I get a standard Apache 404 error page. The Apache log shows the same 404 error.

Everything else (posts, plugins, etc) works just fine.

I have tried this across multiple themes, and multiple browsers. I am not sure, at this point, where to look.

I have double check my .htaccess, and it looks correct.

    Any pointers?

  • Did you try to reset/update your permalink settings?

    Moshu,

Yes I did – I moved between the permalink types – from default to numeric, etc. This did not help at all.

    Any other ideas?

When only pages do not work, there was a fix in a case I had the last days. That was forcing the database upgrade again. Maybe this helps for you as well.

Thanks of the idea. I used wp-admin/options.php to change the database version information, and then was offered the option to upgrade the database again, which I did. Unfortunately I still get the 404 error when trying to load static pages. Everything else works fine.

    Any other ideas?
